“Don’t allow your views to change because society has changed. Michelle Fergus. Whilst society and the world changes around us from one century to another, God remains the same in all centuries, hence the Bible says, “Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.” Read Hebrews 13:8 (AMP). Christianity does not follow trends, neither does the word of God. Truth never changes, it is eternal and forever the same. Guess what, “The world and society should be keeping up with the word, and not us keeping up with society.” AiR.
God’s word is what is trending. Oh, well you might say, how can God’s word be trending? I am happy you asked because this is what the Bible says, “The Son is the radiance and only expression of the glory of [our awesome] God [reflecting God’s Shekinah glory, the Light-being, the brilliant light of the divine], and the exact representation and perfect imprint of His [Father’s] essence, and upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal].” Read Hebrews 1:3 (AMP). His word is what will trend to eternity. Read Matthew 24:35.
Oh! This is a moment to contemplate what we just read. God’s word is the pillar of the earth; liken it to the iron rod in a pillar. Think with me for a moment, before the pillar is created, iron rods are put together to help strengthen the pillar whilst concrete is poured into the already created cast iron. Now, what do you think will happen if there were no iron rods? I will tell you, the concrete will gradually chip away and before you know it, “things will fall apart because the centre can no longer hold.” Chinua Achebe.
The more I contemplate the title, looking at different passages for my personal development, it becomes clearer by the day that everything the world has to offer is meaningless compared to what God has in store for you and me. Success should not be our motivation, instead, let our motivation be Galatians 6:4-5 (MSG) which says “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
It is my prayer and desire, God will place in you and me, insatiable hunger and appetite for His word; Father, I ask this in the Name of Jesus.
#Keep up with the word.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
Absolutely blessed by this.
