Much land remains to be conquered – Part 2.

Much land remains to be conqueredWhen Joshua had reached a venerable age, God said to him, “You’ve had a good, long life, but there is a lot of land still to be taken. This is the land that remains…” Read Joshua 13:1 (MSG). Watch this, God obviously knew Joshua was old, I believe He was pointing out the need for urgency and the scope of work yet to be accomplished. Anyone who works in programme management will understand that timelines are associated with tasks, and can be described as key milestones – components which needed to be completed at a particular given time.

God is more concerned with us fulfilling His purpose and plan for His glory independent of age concerns. He looks at His strength and power working in you, hence the Bible says, “That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God Himself willing and working at what will give Him the most pleasure.” Read Philippians 2:13 (MSG). Watch this, it pleases God as we embrace and execute His counsel with a sense of urgency and excellence.

As the people of God, let the desire to fulfil Gods plan and purpose be your motivation. Sometimes we are motivated to accomplish things in life, and that is a good thing, but let the ultimate driver of our destiny be what God has commissioned into our care. So here is my question for you, do you know what God has called you to do? If you know it or are in the process of exploration, then I want to encourage you to be persistent in your pursuit.

“You become what you are pursuing.” It was mentioned of Joshua that “He followed after the Lord wholeheartedly.” This lets me know that it is not enough to hear God’s purpose for you, but most importantly commit your life and being to fulfilling that call at any cost. I believe God weighs our success based on the task He assigns. Therefore, it can never be too late to discover what the will of God is and fulfil it. Always remember, God has primed you as the “Designated Survivor.” I thank the Lord for He will keep you alive, strong and emboldened to conquer and divide the land for His purpose.

Beloved, “we have a charge to keep and a God to glorify.” My Father, thank You for Your loving kindness, exceeding abundant grace. Thank You for before the foundations of the earth you knew me, loved me and called me in spite of me, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
