Much land remains to be conquered – Part 1.

Much land remains to be conqueredThe Bible says, when Joshua was an old man, the Lord said to him, “You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered.” Read Joshua 13:1(NIV). Before I get into the context of the text and how it applies to you and me in terms of God’s plan and purpose for our respective lives, I want you to know, “God has a lot more in store for you to do.” Your life is not an ordinary life, a million times no, your life is one of purpose and destiny. You and I have a charge to keep and a God to glorify.

This is quite a fascinating text because here we see God saying to Joshua or sort of reminding him that “there is still much work for you to be done.” And I believe this same counsel applies to you and me because the Bible says, “The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters!” Read Romans 8:19 (TPT). The unveiling will come when Galatians 4:4 (MSG) becomes our reality, and this is what it says, “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that.”

Beloved, you are not what your secular career defines you to be, instead, “We have become His poetry, a re-created people that will fulfil the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfil it!” Read Ephesians 2:10 (TPT). In other words, you and I have been assigned specific tasks or assignment or let me put it this way, He has fitted us before the foundations of the world to accomplish in Him our respective assignments.

When I think of the word fitted, I am reminded of fitted or tailor fitted clothing; which can be very expensive because the designer will have to take the individuals exact measurement, then design according to that measurement for a specific person with a unique identity and build. You are not a copy beloved, you are an original. And watch for subsequent posts detailing further discussions.

Father God, thank You for your goodness and mercy, love and grace. I love You, Lord.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
