“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” C. S. Lewis. As the people of God, it is imperative we see life through the prism of Biblical principles. And seeing through the eyes of the Word of God leads us to seek wise counsel and take the right decisions that will ultimately lead one to a place of “actions pleasing to God.” Hallelujah!
“I am a Christian first” comes with a lot of responsibility, for example, not seeing colour or ethnicity, instead, what I see is the love and the Blood of Christ flowing through our veins, therefore, prejudices should not be associated with us as believers in Christ. Listen to what the Bible says, “And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.” Read Romans 5:5 (TPT). I am a Christian first is not a fantasy; it is an experience of God’s endless love for mankind, this ladies and gentlemen is the GOSPEL of Christ.
When we understand why we are Christians first, we will make our choices with God’s eternal values in mind. Recall what the Bible says, “Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. And bring your constant praise to God the Father because of what Christ has done for you!” Read Colossians 3:17 (TPT). Seasoned speech the Bible says, “Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.” Read Colossians 4:6 (TPT).
Why does it matter that “I am a Christian first“? Very good question and I will ask you to keep watching.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your awesome grace. Thank You because I am Yours, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
Absolutely brilliant and thought-provoking.
