I am a Christian First – Part 3

fullsizeoutput_44Christianity is hard when we try to serve God in man’s way instead of serving God in God’s way.” A.W. Tozer. Watch this, God’s way is always righteous, and as the people of God, how we interact with the people around us must be about righteousness and not about being right. Listen, we all have rights to do whatever we desire to do, but the main question you and I will need to answer is whether those actions are righteous; and this ladies and gentlemen is the measure of who we are as Christians. I am a Christian first is not meant to be a nice slogan, with this comes a responsibility of high accountability.

Watch this, “And He chose us to be His very own, joining us to Himself even before He laid the foundation of the universe! Because of His great love, He ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in His eyes with an unstained innocence.” Read Ephesians 1:4 (TPT). Can you see this? You are not a Christian by accident, God planned this well in advance, He had you and me in His mind a very long time ago; brothers and sisters, this is humbling.

“I am a Christian first” if I have to encapsulate it is the ‘Revelation of Jesus‘ and who you are in Christ. Paul said, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ.” Read Philippians 3:14. What is the prize of the upward call? CHRISTLIKENESS – in Christ. Listen to this, “Christlikeness” is the revelation of Christ in all that we do. Hallelujah.

Beloved, the entire essence of you and me being “Christians First” is the most important tool for evangelism, because people will look on us. Recall what Peter said to the cripple at the Beautiful Gate, “I don’t have money, but I’ll give you thisby the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk. Read Acts 3:6 (TPT). What we have in Christ, the only one who has the power to heal, to deliver and to set one free, and we are that conduit through which the gospel of Christ will be disseminated.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
