Trust in the Lord completely – Part 5

Proverbs 3:5It pays to trust God with all and to make no reservation.” ― Smith Wigglesworth. When God sacrificed His Son Jesus on the cross of Calvary, there were no reservations in His mind, God was completely determined to reconcile His people back to Him. And if I have to contrast this with Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his only son; it shows Abraham’s complete trust in God. My Father, may it be mentioned of us that we trusted God to the end. See the text below.

Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” Read Genesis 22:6-11 (NIV). Ladies and gentlemen, Abram showed no reservation, neither did he hold back his only son, and the Bible records “Then Abram believed in (affirmed, trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord; and He counted (credited) it to him as righteousness (doing right in regard to God and man).” Read Genesis 15:6 (AMP).

Ladies and gentlemen, God removed the obstacle for Abram. And this same God who never changes, who remains “the same yesterday and today and forever” Read Hebrews 13:8; can remove any obstacle in our path. The question then arises, are we willing to stand on the word of God at any cost?

My Father in heaven, I am so in awe of You. You are my awesome God and Father. No one can compare to You. You alone are worthy to be praised. Thank You, Lord, Jesus for trusting me in spite of me to do right in your sight and in the sight of man.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
