I have found the Book of the Law – Part 7

I have found the Book...aRevival happens when a good percentage of people in the church decide to swallow the Book and let it have its effect on their lives, come what may.” A.W. Tozer. “Oh, what a feast.” Finding the Book of the law is not a mechanical or dormant activity, instead, it is about our relationship with God. Being in a relationship with someone; you will want to spend more time with that person, right? Josiah was in a relationship with God, and he was willing to commune and heed to everything the Book of the Law instructed.

Listen to this, the Book of the Law has a voice (pause and calmly think). The Book speaks! Well, how is this so Ricky? Recall the Bible says, “So bless the Lord, all His messengers of powerfor you are His mighty heroes who listen intently to the voice of His word to do it.” Read Psalm 103:20 (TPT). Can you see this? the voice of His Word is the Book of the Law. Josiah’s relationship with God caused him to hearken unto the Word and do it.

After Josiah’s religious reformation in Judah, he issued an order to all the people saying, “You must celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, as required in this Book of the Covenant.” Read 2 Kings 23:21 (NIV). Thanksgiving and worship is a sacrifice, it is a demonstration of our quiet confident trust in God. Look at David in the Bible, it was recorded, “he celebrated extravagantly and abandoned himself before the Lordthe whole country was with him with shouts and the trumpet blasts” Read 2 Samuel 6:14 -16 (MSG).

I want to challenge you and me, all through this week, not to let anything hold us back from being extravagant with our praise before God. People might look at you funny, but, hey, you are not bothered by their looks, after all, Michal had disgust for David, welcome to the club. Read 2 Samuel 6:16-23 (NIV). And I say this seriously, people around you will be infected by your praise such that they will have no choice but to join in and begin to praise Him as well, as was seen in David’s case.

Please note this, “thanksgiving” is not an event on the calendar, a million times not. Rather, it is a way of life for you and me, hence the Bible says, “In all things, give thanks, for this is the will of God for you who belong to Christ.” Read 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Therefore, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Read Psalm 150:6. Glory… Hallelujah… Oh, how I love Jesus…

The Book of the Law is not supplemental and should not be treated as such!!!

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
