20/20 Resolution – Part 19a

2020 ResolutionMaintaining a consistent momentum in the things of God this 20/20 and beyond will require you and me to embrace the Spirit of Holiness.  Now, when one thinks of holiness, it should not be thought about from the position of externalities, rather from the internal. Well, you might be wondering, why is holiness so important? For so many reasons, it is and I will try to highlight a few from the Scriptures.

The Bible says, “[Live] as obedient children [of God]; do not be conformed to the evil desires which governed you in your ignorance [before you knew the requirements and transforming power of the good news regarding salvation]. But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your conduct [be set apart from the world by your godly character and moral courage]; because it is written, “You shall be holy (set apart), for I am Holy.” Read 1 Peter 1:14-16 (AMP).

What then is holiness? It simply is “Godly character and moral courage.” Demonstrating godly character and moral courage in the face of a culture which seeks to demean our Christian values. I am sure we can agree it will take a godly character and moral courage to stand for Christian values in a polarized and secular humanistic space.

Watch this, “And a great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of HolinessEvil-minded people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God’s waysfools [not knowing] will never walk there.” Read Isaiah 35:8 (NLT). Can you see this? God’s way is the path of righteousness, discipline and total adherence to everything His word says to you and me.

My Father, thank You. I know my intellectual mind can’t comprehend the perspective of holiness, but, Your Spirit is given to me, and all truth will be revealed unto me in Christ Name.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
