The fourth theme which encapsulates the Book of Amos is “Superficial Religion.” When we say something is superficial, it refers to [shallowness, a lack of substance or depthless]. Now, it is amazing that this terminology will be used to describe the people of Israel in the Northern Kingdom. And I wonder if Christians of today can be termed as shallow, lack substance or depthless in their worship of God.
What then is a plumb line? It is a piece of device used to measure the straightness of a wall. And it can also be used to determine if a wall is out of syn. Therefore, we can say God used the plumb line to determine if the people of Israel in the Northern Kingdom were out of sync with His plan and purpose for them, and unfortunately, God found them to be.
Look at what the Bible says, “Thus He showed me [a vision], and behold, the Lord was standing by a vertical wall with a plumb line in His hand [to determine if the wall was straight or if it needed to be destroyed]. The Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said, “Behold, I am setting a plumb line [as a standard] among My people Israel [showing the defectiveness of the nation, requiring judgment]. I shall not spare them any longer. [The door of mercy is shut.]” Read Amos 7:7 (AMP). God’s word is the plumb line and it reveals whether we are authentic or superficial in our walk with God.
Beloved, are you out of sync with God’s will and purpose for your life? Are you building your life on a shaky foundation? The Lord says this, “I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line.” Read Isaiah 28:17a (NIV). Beloved, God wants you and me to do right by Him, “He wants that sin which makes us crooked removed immediately.” Will you hear what the Lord is saying today?
My Father in heaven, thank You for the Book of Amos which speaks to the realities in our life as Christians in the 21st century. Help us, Lord, to heed every word of prophecy and to make an immediate adjustment so that we can stand before unashamed and without guilt or condemnation in Christ Name.

Par conséquent, nous pouvons dire que Dieu a utilisé la ligne de plomb pour déterminer si le peuple d’Israel dans le Royaume du Nord était en décalage avec son plan et son but pour eux, et malheureusement, Dieu les a trouvés pour être.

Bien-aimé, Dieu veut que vous et moi fassions ce qu’il faut en lui, “Il veut ce péché qui nous fait être enlevés immédiatement.” Entendrez-vous ce que le Seigneur dit aujourd’hui?
Mon Père céleste, merci pour le Livre d’Amos qui parle des réalités de notre vie de chrétiens au XXIe siècle. Aidez-nous, Seigneur, à tenir compte de chaque mot de prophétie et à faire un ajustement immédiat afin que nous puissions nous tenir devant sans honte et sans culpabilité ni condamnation au Nom du Christ.

Der Herr sagt dies: “Ich werde Gerechtigkeit zur Messlinie machen und Gerechtigkeit zur Klempnerlinie.” Lesen Sie Jesaja 28:17a (NIV). Geliebte, Gott wird, dass du und ich recht tun durch ihn: “Er wird diese Sünde, die uns sofort schief geht.” Werden Sie hören, was der Herr heute sagt?
Mein Vater im Himmel, danke dir für das Buch Amos, das zu den Realitäten in unserem Leben als Christen im 21. Jahrhundert spricht.
