I was recently sent a video to watch about the level of corruption in a particular country, including watching a proceeding where the chief law enforcement officer of a country was treated with disdain based on party affiliations. These two videos got me thinking and asking the LORD, what this all meant. Graciously, the LORD placed on my heart the story of how the “people and elders demanded a king who will rule over them like other nations.” Read 1 Samuel 8:5 (NASB). I also saw where the LORD “warned the people” of Israel about the character and type of person they were demanding from Him. Read 1 Samuel 8:10 (NIV).
Watch this, we have seen all over the world what corrupt leadership looks like especially in the seven mountain sphere that influences society as listed below:
1. Family
2. Religion – (Spirituality)
3. Business – (Economy, Finance)
4. Politics – (Government)
5. Education
6. Media – (Communication)
7. Arts – (Entertainment, Celebration, Sports)
Listen to this, God’s desire was to be their’s and our leader, and the children of Israel rejected God’s offer of leadership through what they said, “Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations.” Read 1 Samuel 8:5 (NASB). What the requestors did not realize was that whoever they demanded was going to heap untold hardship on the people because the way of the world is hostile to the things of God.
Let me ask, are you demanding a leader which you know to be outside His will, yet, you persisted in your request? See what God says, “My Spirit will not contend with man…” Read Genesis 6:3 (BSB). The Lord also said, “Therefore God gave them over.” Read Romans 1:24 (NIV), verse 26, “Because of this, God gave them over…” verse 28, “God gave them over…” Read Romans 1:28. In other words, God withdrew His hand, His protection from the people and allowed them to do whatever they wanted; and we all can clearly see what became of Saul.
Watch this, God will not strive with us. He says what He wants and He also encourages us to act accordingly to His counsel, and that is why He has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. And what is that truth? The Bible helps us, “Sanctify them in the truth [set them apart for Your purposes, make them holy]; Your word is truth.” Read John 17:17 (AMP).
My Father in heaven, “Have mercy” on us. I ask You, “Pour out Your spirit of grace and prayer” on us in Christ Name. Amen.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
God will pour on us spirit of grace and prayers
