So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:14-18 (AMP)
“The combat is not against human enemies, nor against our own corrupt nature only; we have to do with an enemy who has a thousand ways of beguiling unstable souls.” Therefore beloved, ‘man is not your problem.’ We are fighting against a well organized system, and a formidable enemy. Quite frankly, there is every possibility that our lives will intersect with the host of Satan’s armies because of ones faithfulness to God and His Word. Therefore, you can see why we need the COMPLETE ARMOR. Listen here, without the complete armor, one stands to be defeated because of a lack of preparation and adherence.
The apostle Paul writes:
- Tighten the wide band of truth around your waist: What is “Truth”? The Bible says, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” Read John 17:17 (NASB). Listen to this, “And you too trusted Him, when you heard the message of truth, the Gospel of your salvation.” Read Ephesians 1:13. In other words, TRUTH = GOSPEL. Watch this beloved, ‘we are to gird up our minds and hearts and be mentally and spiritually prepared for an imminent challenge. Remember, we are constantly in a fight with the dark forces of this world. And one thing is clear; here it is, “But thanks be unto God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Read 1 Corinthians 15:57. Therefore, as believers in Christ, we must know and embrace the truth because it will help us remain rooted and grounded in the times of battle. Listen here, “Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.” Read Psalm 125:1(NASB). Listen here, “Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, live like men, be strong! Let everything that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (J.B. Phillips New Testament).
2. Put on the breastplate of righteousness [an upright heart]: What is righteousness? According to Strong’s Concordance “God’s judicial approval.” Listen here, “But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NASB). Righteousness is like a coat of armor as described in Isaiah 59:17. Therefore, the breastplate acts as an armor covering vital parts, as the heart. Watch this, “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.” Read Proverbs 4:23. How do we define the heart? It is the “Center and seat of spiritual life, “The soul or mind, as it is the fountain and seat of the thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purposes, and endeavours.”
My Father in heaven, I am very grateful for Your mercy. Thank You because You have released in me spiritual weapons to be able to stand and fight the good fight of faith. Father, I am glad You are on my side, because with You “Victory is secure.” Glory…

Éphésiens: L’Armure de Dieu – Partie 6c
Alors, tenez bon et tenez bon, après avoir resserré la large bande de vérité (intégrité personnelle, courage moral) autour de votre taille et avoir mis sur la cuirasse de la justice (un cœur droit), et après avoir attaché sur vos pieds l’Évangile de la paix en préparation [pour faire face à l’ennemi avec une stabilité aux pieds fermes et la disponibilité produite par les bonnes nouvelles]. Par-dessus tout, soulevez le bouclier [protecteur] de la foi avec lequel vous pouvez éteindre toutes les flèches en flammées du mal. Et prenez le cas que du salut, et l’épée de l’Esprit, qui est la Parole de Dieu.
Éphésiens 6:14-18 (AMP)
- “Le combat n’est pas contre les ennemis humains, ni contre notre propre nature corrompue seulement; nous avons à voir avec un ennemi qui a mille façons de séduire les âmes instables. Par conséquent aimé, “l’homme n’est pas votre problème. Nous nous battons contre un système bien organisé et un ennemi redoutable. Très franchement, il est possible que nos vies se croisent avec l’armée de Satan en raison de sa fidélité à Dieu et à sa Parole. Par conséquent, vous pouvez voir pourquoi nous avons besoin de l’ARMURE COMPLÈTE. Ecoutez ici, sans l’armure complète, on risque d’être vaincu à cause d’un manque de préparation et d’adhésion.
- Mettez sur la cuirasse de la justice [un cœur droit]: Qu’est-ce que la justice? Selon la Concordance de Strong, “l’approbation judiciaire de Dieu“. Écoutez ici, “Mais puisque nous sommes du jour, soyons sobres, après avoir mis sur la cuirasse de la foi et de l’amour, et comme un casque, l’espoir du salut.” 1 Thessaloniens 5:8 (NASB). La justice est comme un manteau d’armure tel que décrit dans Ésaïe 59:17. Par conséquent, la cuirasse agit comme une armure couvrant les parties vitales, comme le cœur. Regardez ceci, “Veillez vigilant sur votre cœur; c’est là que la vie commence. Lire Proverbes 4:23. Comment définissons-nous le cœur? C’est le “centre et le siège de la vie spirituelle“, “L’âme ou l’esprit“, car c’est la fontaine et le siège des pensées, des passions, des désirs, des appétits, des affections, des buts et des efforts.”
Mon Père céleste, je vous suis très reconnaissant de votre miséricorde. Merci parce que Vous avez libéré en moi des armes spirituelles pour être en mesure de se lever et de combattre le bon combat de la foi. Père, je suis content que tu sois de mon côté, parce qu’avec Toi “La victoire est en sécurité.” Gloire…
