The word acknowledge means “to recognise as genuine, so as to give validity, avow or admit in legal form.” Philemon 1:6 “that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgement of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” My faith, or should I say my God kind of faith becomes effective or at its highest point when I begin to acknowledge God and His Word over my life.
In the society we live in, we all face obstacles, and in some instances these obstacles can become a blocker if not dealt with employing spiritual thinking and action. Now I understand why the scripture says “cast all your cares upon him, for He cares and He will sustain you.” 1 Peter 5:7.
To cast requires some effort, likewise to acknowledge requires additional effort. You are telling your senses, your intellectual self, your cerebral to listen to and acknowledge truth (word) that is contrary to what the five physical senses can relate to. So in the midst of the challenge or the wilderness, what are you acknowledging? Are you acknowledging
1] Gods provision in the midst of scarcity for a time?
2] Gods healing virtue and power over a sick body?
3] Gods hope in a place of hopelessness?
4] Gods exceedingly abundant grace?
Wherever you are, and whatever the circumstance may be, remember, “acknowledge Gods goodness and mercy.” Ephesians 2:4 “But God, who is rich in mercy for His great love wherewith he loved us.” Be bold my friend and acknowledge Gods love, acknowledge Gods mercy, acknowledge Gods hand, acknowledge Gods safety and security, but above all, acknowledge Gods saving grace.
We all need His saving grace.
