Facing all the facts, gaining perspective – Part 2

Depending on which school of thought you belong to, facts are more real than truth. Now there is a clear distinction between fact and truth. As I alluded to  in my previous post, a fact is something that has actual existence, the evidence is un-questionable to the senses. Facts deal with logic, if it is not logical, then the logical, intellectual mind cannot and will refuse to accept the data. However, truth is something which depends on ones perspective, a perspective borne from a higher place of knowledge in Christ Jesus. Remember, “…Jesus Christ has been made unto us wisdom…” Read 1 Corinthians 1:30.

Truth brings a perspective beyond what our humanistic tendencies can handle, truth is God, truth is Jesus Christ, truth is the Holy Spirit, truth is whatever God says from His Word is law. I know your intellect is being challenged, and quite rightly so, because our senses have been so trained by nothing other than systems developed and created by men. Hear what Colossians 2:8 (amp) says “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the [a]elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.”

HERE WE CAN SEE TRUTH IS CHRIST (pause and calmly think). Look at another interpretation of the same verse of scripture in the Living Bible “Don’t let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on men’s thoughts and ideas, instead of on what Christ has said.” Check what this bible version says “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.”

Your perspective in a matter is critically important, and here we are told, there is no other perspective we should have other than that which is in Christ Jesus. I am with you Ricky, you might say, so how then do I get this perspective you speak about Ricky? Brilliant question, and my response comes from Colossians 1: 27 “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Oh, wow, in other words wisdom lives in you, insight lives in you. We are told, “out of your belly flows rivers of living waters.”

Oh, the clock is ticking and my time is up for today.

We write You read Be encouraged.
