Transformed by the Word – Part 3

fullsizeoutput_31Seeking the Life Giver. I truly believe transformation starts first of all by seeking the Life Giver. The Bible helps our understanding of Jesus saying to Thomas one of His disciples, “I am the [only] Way[to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” Read John 14:6 (AMP). My Bible also says, “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” Read Matthew 6:33 (AMP).

Renewing of the mind. From our core text in Romans 12:2 (NLT), “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” In other words, thinking and a change of mindset is a critical process for true transformation to occur. The Bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Read Proverbs 23:7 (KJV). As believers who are transformed by the Word of God; it ushers us into God’s presence and power through His indwelling Holy Spirit.

Renewing of the mind comes through the channel of meditating on God’s Word, hence, “And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” Read Joshua 1:8 (MSG). Can you see this? Let your mind be consumed, filled and overflowing with the Word of God. Well, you might be saying, Ricky, I have other things to think about; and I am telling you, you can’t afford to not think and meditate on God’s Word, therefore, the scripture counsels us, “The mind governed by the flesh [reasoning without the Holy Spirit] is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit [reasoning with the Holy Spirit at the core of our decision] is life and peace.” Read Romans 8:6 (NIV).

Listen to this, God’s Word is not a supplement, it is the real meal, and it has all the nutrients you will ever need to be nourished and mature into a full grown man or woman. Hallelujah, Glory to God.

A. W. Tozer quotes, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”  Therefore, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same,” I ask this question, what do you constantly think about? If it is not God, then I  counsel you to consider your ways.

We write. You read. Be encouraged.
