There was someone in the scriptures whose life was radically changed and forever and is recorded in history as one the wisest men who ever lived. I am talking about King Solomon, and it was spoken of him that “he offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar.” And the Lord appeared to Solomon that night in a dream, and asked him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” Read 1 Kings 3:4-5 (NIV).
Watch this, Solomon then said, “Give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.” Read 1 Kings 3:9 (NIV). Solomon’s GIFT to the Lord at the altar was a memorial and I believe it caused a ripple such that God responded to a GIFT from the heart. Now, there is a huge difference between prepared giving and pressured giving.
A French philosopher Blaise Pascal wrote, “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every person, and it can never be filled by any created thing. It can only be filled by God, made known through Jesus Christ.” Hence the Bible says, “For by Him all things were created, in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through Him and for Him.” Read Colossians 1:16 (ESV).
Therefore, if you are still vacillating between whether you should or not GIVE your life to Christ; this is the best decision you will ever make because the only one who has the keys to unlock them and pour into your life His love is waiting and ready to fill you with His exceeding abundant grace.
