“We must read our Bibles like men digging for hidden treasure.” J. C. Ryle.
The Bible says, “So they read from the Book of the Law of God distinctly, faithfully amplifying and giving the sense so that [the people] understood the reading. And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all of them, This day is holy to the Lord your God; mourn not nor weep. For all the people wept when they heard the Words of the Law. Then [Ezra] told them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” Read Nehemiah 8:8-10 (AMPC). Watch this brethren, the JOY OF THE LORD is His Word the BIBLE and a benefit to you and me.
“The precepts of the Lord are right, bringing JOY TO THE HEART. The commandment of the Lord is pure, ENLIGHTENING THE EYES.” Read Psalm 19:8 (AMP). Can you see this? If you want to be enlightened, hearken to God’s Word. Listen to the Bible, “I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of His calling —that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that He finds in us, His Holy ones!” Read Ephesians 1:18 (TPT). Imagination starts from the heart, the seat of judgement, therefore, it is important that we fortify our hearts and minds with the Word of God.
“The [reverent] fear of the Lord is CLEAN, ENDURING FOREVER; the ordinances of the Lord are TRUE and RIGHTEOUS altogether.” Read Psalm 19:9 (AMPC). God’s Word endures forever, hence the Bible says, “I am God and always will be. No one can escape from My power; no one can change what I do.” Read Isaiah 43:13 (GNT). God’s Word is sacrosanct. “Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever..” Read Hebrews 13:8 (AMP). Christ is the Word made flesh, hence the Bible says, “In the very beginning the Living Expression was already there. And the Living Expression was with God, yet fully God.” Read John 1:1 (TPT). God’s Word and promises for you will endure forever.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness. Thank You, I have clarity and I am enlightened by Your Word. Thank You, I have the capacity to receive Your counsel in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
