Brothers and sisters, the Church ought to get back to its core foundation of preaching the gospel of Christ unapologetically. Watch this, “Cursed be he who does the work of the Lord negligently [with slackness, deceitfully]; and cursed be he who keeps back his sword from blood [in executing judgment pronounced by the Lord].” Read Jeremiah 48:10 (AMPC). Listen to this, “As I live and breathe,” God says, “every knee will bow before me; Every tongue will tell the honest truth that I and only I am God.” Read Romans 14:11 (MSG).
The Church can’t afford to be indifferent or stick its head in the sand; the Church has a charge to keep and a God to glorify. “And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the Kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize—a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].” Read Matthew 11:12 (AMP). This is very explicit and self-explanatory.
Listen, “And your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up and restore the age-old foundations [of buildings that have been laid waste]; You will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” Read Isaiah 58:12 (AMP). Who are the people being referred to hear? It’s you and me – the Church.
Consider this question, are we as the people of God preaching a gospel that appeals or is conducive to the lifestyle and behaviours of people?
The Scripture counsels, Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last day’s scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” Read 2 Peter 3:3-4 (NLT). Scoffers in the pulpit preaching a false gospel, hence the Bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.” Read Hosea 4:6 (AMP).
“UNTIL THE CHURCH – YOU AND ME ALIGN OURSELVES TO TRUTH, HOW CAN WE PREACH TRUTH!”? SEEK THE TRUTH – WORD!!
My Father, help us. We repent and turn to the one true God. Thank You for looking on us with extraordinary grace and mercy.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
This is very rich, insightful and should lead us to fall on our face and seek repentance for the way we have treated the Church of God.
