Facing all the facts, perspective comes from seeking – Part 4

Study shows that in the 21st Century, we live in an era of moral relativism, humanism, scientism, naturalism, hedonism and all the other isms. All these isms posit “the scripture is not an absolute.” I want you to consider my statement, “God cannot be explained away, He can only be experienced through a deep and personal relationship.”

Perspective comes from seeking. Scripture says “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His Kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right – the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. Matthew 6:33 AMP. The primary objective and focus in our perspective is to seek after how God wants things done, and not what our brilliant intellectualism tells us to do.

Hear my heart on this matter, I am not against intellectualism, however when we depend more on our intellect more than we depend on God, then we have a problem. Listen to what the Psalmist says in chapter 82:5 “The rulers do not know nor do they understand; They walk on in the darkness [of complacent satisfaction]; All the foundations of the earth [the fundamental principles of the administration of justice] are shaken. Watch this reader, my foundation, your foundation ought to be on the Word of God which is solid, and you can take that to the bank. I said it, and approve of this statement.

Perspective comes from the Lord, perspective comes from a constant fresh commissioning from the Lord – “You anoint my head with oil.” Let us look at what Luke 4:18 says, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me…” Here we see the Spirit of the Lord activating the anointing. “You anoint my head with oil.” The word ‘you’ connotes a continuum (constant and it is daily), and that is why I said perspective comes from a daily communion with God, from a constant connection to the source of all wisdom, from a daily consecration, from a daily feasting on His Word.

Let us acknowledge our dependence on the Lord, let us not depend on our intellectualism, or educational papers and theories, remember this “The Lord is my shepherd…” He is that great Shepherd of the sheep, “we are the sheep of His pasture” Psalm 100:3.

It is not God’s desire for us to grope in the dark and looking for solutions elsewhere outside Him, oh no, a million times no. It is His delight to “make known to me the way of life, granting me the joy of His presence and the pleasures of living with Him forever.” Psalm 16:11.

Let us consider our ways

  1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
    in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

  2. The true meaning of life is “Love”, despite our educational achievement, wealth and status without the Almighty God in our lives we are empty.

    1. I totally agree with you because “…apart from Me, you can do nothing.” It is either we think the bible is not serious with that statement or we are too intelligent for our own good to ignore the counsel from God. What camp do you fall into? The actions we take determine and is a good indicator to which camp we belong to.
