Think with me for a moment, will you at any point during a building development be pleased with a developer who builds or constructs something without being included in the plan? Absolutely not; no one will be pleased. Beloved, it is the same with our heavenly Father, He won’t be pleased with any construct which has not been approved by Him. And since this is the case, why do we think God will bless or put His seal of approval on anything which He did not authorize? He simply won’t do it, and as the people of God, we need to awaken to the realization that God does not understand anything outside of His Word.
I want to dispel a myth and establish this truth, there is nothing like “healthy competition,” especially when it comes to the things of God. And as the people of God called according to His purpose, our paths are different, and we are all unique. Therefore, if I embrace my uniqueness, why should I seek to imitate someone else? I am comfortable with my assignment, and I am not looking to take on anyone else’s design, neither am I looking to run with someone else’s race, therefore, why should there be a competition? The Bible says, “Therefore since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” Read Hebrews 12:1-2a (NLT).
Here is a question for us all to consider, are you building your ministry according to God’s pattern? Are you building your marriage according to God’s pattern? Are you building your family and children or yourself according to God’s pattern? Are you even building your career according to God’s pattern? These are very serious questions folks. Watch this, if we do not build according to the pattern, then, discontentment will become inevitable. Dis-satisfaction, un-necessary pressures, sleepless nights become prevalent because one is trying to build something God never sanctioned in the first place. Beloved, if you are dis-eased, it might be a good thing to check with the builder and architect of your life.
Someone might be asking, how does one build according to the pattern? The Bible tells us what we must do.
- Look to Jesus– “We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” Read Hebrews 12:2a (NLT). When we look to Jesus, our faces will be radiant, in other words, light comes. Read Psalm 34:5. “Lift up your eyes to heaven, “I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help. But then I realize that our true help and protection come only from the Lord, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth.” Read Psalm 121:1 (TPT).
My Father in heaven, thank You for enlightening the eyes of my heart to see and know what to do according to Your plan and purpose in Christ Name. Thank You, Father, I will stay on the path you have weaned for me.
We write. You read. Be encouraged.
